Katherine S Godin serves as a Research Compliance Officer within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. In this capacity, Katherine works to support and facilitate the conduct of research through the review, development and implementation of University-wide research policies. Katherine advises researchers and department administrators on compliance issues across the University with a specific focus on foreign influence, lab safety, and export control.
Prior to joining the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, Katherine was a Biosafety Officer at MIT’s Environment, Health, and Safety department. Prior to her time at MIT, Katherine worked both in the academic and biotech areas as a postdoc in the MCB program at Harvard University and a Career Development Fellow at the MRC-LMB in Cambridge, UK; and as a Core Leader at Beryllium LLC in Bedford, MA. Katherine is a graduate of the University of Vermont and the University of Washington in Seattle, WA where she specialized in the structure and function of RNA and proteins.
