Paul Liebman, J.D. serves as a Senior Research Compliance Officer within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. In this capacity, Paul advises on compliance issues across the University and works to support and facilitate the conduct of research through the review, development and implementation of University-wide research policies and programs.
Paul is a nationally-recognized thought leader in governance, risk and compliance matters. Prior to joining the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, Paul served as the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at Baylor University, as the Chief Compliance Officer at The University of Texas at Austin, as the Chief Compliance Counsel at Dell, as the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Compliance at Temple-Inland, as an attorney at Koch Industries and Global Compliance Counsel for Koch’s wholly-owned subsidiary KoSa, and as an environmental attorney at Exxon. He is also the founder and owner of a law firm that specializes in building best-in-class compliance programs and of a consulting firm called Corporate Clergy which provides pro bono executive coaching on how to drive OCEG Principled Performance® as well as career/crisis management advice to compliance officers.
Paul has been widely recognized for his professional achievements. Among these recognitions, he was selected by The National Law Journal as a Top 50 Governance, Risk and Compliance Trailblazer and Pioneer and as an OCEG Fellow for his lifetime of contributions to the governance, risk and compliance profession. He also serves on the board of Steel City Re, a private financial services company specializing in reputation management products and services.
