Elizabeth Parsons serves as a Research Compliance Officer for the Research Compliance Program within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. In this role, Elizabeth works with FAS and SEAS faculty and administrators on a broad spectrum of research compliance and policy activities with an emphasis on financial conflict of interest, export control, international collaborations and other foreign activities, while coordinating and integrating other compliance domains as needed. She also provides training and outreach to FAS and SEAS faculty and staff on regulatory and University policy requirements around fCOI, international collaborations, visiting scholars, travel, and shipping, as well as the technology-specific impacts of export controls both on-campus and abroad.
Before joining the Research Compliance Program, Elizabeth served as an IRB Administrator for the Harvard University Area IRB and as a Research Compliance Administrator at John Carroll University. Elizabeth also has a strong background in research, having worked as a Wildlife Biologist for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and other academic and not-for-profit organizations. Elizabeth holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado and a M.S. from the University of Oregon.
