Julie Chamberlin serves as the Research Compliance Officer for the Research Compliance Program within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. In this role, Julie works primarily with FAS faculty and administrators within the Arts & Humanities Divisions on a broad spectrum of research compliance and policy activities with an emphasis on financial conflict of interest, export control, international collaborations and other foreign activities, while coordinating and integrating as necessary across other compliance domains. She also provides training and outreach to FAS faculty and staff on regulatory and University policy requirements as they relate to research.
Prior to this role, Julie worked as an IRB Reliance & QA/QI Specialist at the Harvard Longwood Campus in the Office of Regulatory Affairs and Research Compliance, helping to provide front-line guidance to faculty, staff, and students. Before coming to Harvard Julie worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as a Senior IRB Specialist with a focus on greater than minimal risk studies. Previous to that, Julie worked as a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in Special Infectious Diseases and Cardiac Critical Care.
Julie has her master’s in public health (MPH) from the George Washington University, as well as a master’s Certificate in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Leadership from the Harvard Extension School.
