Research Compliance Program (RCP)

Chris Wagner serves as a Research Compliance Officer for the Research Compliance Program within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. In this role, Chris works with education and research units across the University on a broad spectrum of research compliance and policy activities with an emphasis on financial conflict of interest, export control, international collaborations and other foreign activities, while coordinating and integrating as necessary across other compliance domains. He also provides training and outreach to faculty and staff on regulatory and University policy requirements as they relate to research.

Prior to this, Chris served in the role of Associate Research Compliance Administrator within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, supporting the Research Compliance team in its work facilitating the conduct of University wide research, particularly through membership of the leadership team responsible for steering the development and implementation of the institutional Research Security Program, which Chris continues to support.

Prior to joining OVPR having relocated to the USA from the UK, Chris was the Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager for St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge, where he was responsible for all aspects of the College’s risk and compliance portfolio and effective institutional governance. Before this, Chris, who is a UK-qualified lawyer, spent several years working in private legal practice, advising clients primarily in the road transport sector on a range of regulatory compliance and best practice areas.
